While consulting at Booz Allen Hamilton, our founder, Tres Roeder, was repeatedly asked by clients not just to advise—but to stay and help implement the work. That request shaped the firm from the beginning. What started with a first client in Danville, Illinois, grew steadily as organizations sought practical, human‑centered help turning important ideas into real outcomes.
Over the past 25 years, Roeder Consulting has delivered more than 94 successful projects and trained more than 17,000 professionals, earning a reputation as a trusted partner in strategy execution. His books and keynote talks emphasize that people issues—such as communication breakdowns and poor stakeholder alignment—are often the true reasons projects fail.

When Tres first identified people skills as the top corollary to project success, the profession wasn’t ready to listen. He couldn’t even secure a free speaking slot at his local Project Management Institute chapter in Cleveland, Ohio. The industry was still heavily focused on methodologies and technical rigor.

Years later, after publishing two Amazon-bestselling books ( A Sixth Sense for Project Management, and Managing Project Stakeholders) and relentlessly advocating for the importance of people skills, Tres was invited to contribute to a new chapter on Project Stakeholder Management in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
